67 - European project on birds: Sterna

Teylers museum is a member of a European consortium called STERNA creating a distributed digital library for wild life enthusiasts and bird lovers. Other members are: Royal Museum for Central Africa, Belgium, Naturalis, Trezorix and Dutch Institue for Sound and Vision (Beeld en Geluid), the Netherlands, Wildscreen/ARKive, UK, and institutes from Slovenia, Malta, Greece, Iceland, Luxemburg and Hungary.

The department "Bijzondere Collecties" (Special Collections) of the Library of the University of Amsterdam has already digitised a part of their birds collection from the Library of Artis. See http://www.uba.uva.nl/bbc/
